Manchester United Sign Matic From Chelsea
Manchester United on Monday completed the signing of Nemanja Matic from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Matic who clocks 29 on August 1 has been described by United as an unsung hero – the sort of player who makes teams click, with minimum fuss but maximum efficacy.
The Serbian departed Stamford Bridge to become the Red Devils’ third signing, having played a pivotal role in two Premier League title triumphs, as well as winning the League Cup with Chelsea.
The trophies all came in his second spell at the club, after re-joining the Blues in early 2014 to add steel and strength to the midfield.
During his first period at the club, in 2009/10, he made three substitute appearances in a championship-winning season before proceeding to Benfica in January 2011.
